Why we love tencel
Tencel is a soft, strong and breathable woven fabric, and is one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics.
Tencel drapes well and, like linen, has a lovely natural look. Tencel fabrics are absorbent and have anti-bacterial properties, making it ideal for New Zealand's hot summers.
Tencel is durable and washes well. All our fabric is pre-washed so you don't have to worry about shrinkage. We recommend washing all our items in cold water (it's better for your your powerbill and the environment!), on a gentle cycle or in a bra bag (to prevent snagging on other items).
Tencel is sourced from eucalyptus trees using sustainable farming practices. The trees are grown in forests that have earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification that the products come from socially and environmentally responsible forests, and the European Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification has also endorsed Tencel's farming practices as sustainable.
